The person serving in the position of Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating disabilities, injuries and disease using a range of manual therapy, modalities and exercises as well as providing education and consulting services. The Physical Therapist complies with all regulatory, professional, ethical, quality improvement and facility standards, performs charting and patient progress notes as well as supervision, training and assistance to department personnel. The Physical Therapist serves in a multidisciplinary capacity providing services to a wide variety of populations which may include pediatric, medical/surgical, orthopedics, outpatient. Homecare services are also provided and may increase travel frequency.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Patient care including evaluation and treatment of patients referred by providers
- Provides appropriate supervision for Physical Therapist Assistants and support personnel
- Completes documentation related to patient care in a timely manner
- Participates in and provides educational in-services for staff and providers
- Collaborates with healthcare team and provides professional recommendations regarding patient care
- Participates in patient related care coordination activities (e.g. care conferences, etc.)
- Positive promotion of department and profession within hospital/clinic as well as community
- Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements
Possesses a degree from a baccalaureate, Masters or Doctorate program in physical therapy approved by an accredited organization
Licensed to practice as physical therapist within the State of MN
Two years of appropriate experience as a physical therapist
Possesses and maintains current CPR certification
Current MN Driver’s license
Preferred
Community/home health experience
